Pull-down Conversion

Also referred to as 3-2 Pull-down.  The process of converting 24p high-definition video to 59.94i.  This process is very similar to the transfer of film at 24 frames per second to NTSC video.  One frame of film (or 24p video) will be repeated three times to form three video fields.  The next frame of film will be repeated twice to form two video fields.  This cycle is repeated resulting in 5 frames of video for every 4 frames of film (or 24p video).
